In the late ’60s and possibly early ’70s, I remember cigarettes at the local gas stations always seemed to cost the same as school lunches. This could have been a way to help addict adolescents to nicotine. Every morning, I would have a choice of forgoing my lunch and buying cigarettes. My parents never knew! I wish someone would check into this theory of mine as I struggled with cigarettes for many years. I’ve been off them for about 25 or more years now and can’t stand being around them!
