With the semi-recent surge of vapes and e-cigarettes came a slew of new nicotine slang names as well. This list of slang words for vapes isn’t exhaustive by any means, but it’s a great place to start!

  • ADV (noun): An acronym that stands for “all day vape,” or a flavor that one can vape all day without getting sick of it.
  • Atty (noun): Short for atomizer, which is a key component of an e-cigarette that converts the e-liquid to vapor.
  • Batt (noun): A slang term that’s short for battery.
  • Blanks (noun): A slang term for empty disposable vapes.
  • Cart (noun): A slang term that’s short for a flavored cartridge.
  • Cloud (noun): Vapor produced by an e-cigarette or vape.
  • Cloud Chasing (verb): An attempt to exhale the biggest vapor cloud possible.
  • Coil (noun): A part of the atomizer that heats the e-liquid.
  • Draw (noun or verb): The vaping equivalent of the term “drag” that’s used with standard cigarettes.
  • Dripping (verb): The process of manually applying e-cigarette liquid onto the coil before taking a puff, which enhances the flavor and intensifies the sensation.
  • E-Hookah (noun): An electronic hookah pen that uses a vape atomizer and usually a small lithium battery to heat up e-liquid and produce vapor.
  • E-Juice (noun): Liquid that is converted to aerosol by an e-cigarette or vaping device, which is typically flavored.
